About the Pride Stories Collaborative
The Pride Stories Collaborative is a community-driven initiative dedicated to uncovering, preserving, and sharing LGBTQIA+ history of Saratoga Springs and surrounding communities. The Collaborative fosters intergenerational dialogue, community storytelling, and public engagement to make visible the lives, spaces, and experiences that have shaped the region’s LGBTQIA+ past. Through programs such as community conversations, pop-up exhibitions, and the development of a lasting archive, we work collectively to document, honor, and sustain these stories for future generations.
This project is a partnership among Saratoga Pride, Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation, Skidmore College, SUNY Empire State University and Saratoga Springs Public Library.
Our First Event
On June 18th, the Pride Stories Collaborative is hosting a landmark event: an evening devoted to local LGBTQIA+ histories & herstories – our stories! Bring a story to share, or an object that holds meaning – photos, t-shirts, posters, flyers, zines – your favorite piece of local LGBTQIA+ history. More details about the event will be coming soon. You can learn more about this project on our dedicated webpage at:
